With its excellent research outcomes, international recognition, and over hundred-year tradition, Brno University of Technology (BUT) is one of the leading teaching and research universities in central Europe. Its programmes cover not only engineering but also fields of natural science, arts, IT and economics, with a strong interdisciplinary emphasis and close connection with the industrial sphere. With its state-of-the-art research facilities and academic excellence, BUT has a distinguished reputation among students and professionals. With over 18 thousand students, 8 faculties and 3 university institutes, BUT is the nation’s largest technical university.

This project is based on a cooperation with the Faculty of Chemistry (FCH). It is one of the oldest Czech chemical faculties. It places great emphasis on cooperation with industrial and innovative companies in order to ensure the transfer of the results of professional and scientific activities into practice and to keep an overview of current needs and trends in industry-related manufacturing companies. The professional focus of the cooperation is determined by the profile of individual departments of the faculty – materials chemistry, physical and consumer chemistry, environmental chemistry and technology, food chemistry and biotechnology.

The faculty has equipment for structural analysis, physical-mechanical analysis, calorimetry, and chemical analysis, such as a gas chromatograph, a liquid chromatograph with mass detection, an ion chromatograph, an optical emission spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma-mass detector, an X-ray photoelectron spectrometer and a Raman microscope. More information about the equipment and facilities can be found on the official website.
